Hyundai Santa Fe Tire Pressure Guide
The right Santa Fe tire pressure depends on the tire size, and the 2027 trims use four different sizes. This guide lists the recommended cold tire pressure for each size and trim, and explains how to check pressure, adjust for cold weather and read the tire pressure monitor. It is based on the 2027 Santa Fe owner's manual and hyundaiusa.com, read November 3, 2026. Other model years and the Santa Fe Hybrid can differ.
What is the tire pressure for a Hyundai Santa Fe?
The 2027 Santa Fe owner's manual lists 35 psi (240 kPa) cold for the 18-inch tires on the SE, SEL and XRT, and 36 psi (250 kPa) for the 20-inch tires on the Limited and the 21-inch tires on the Calligraphy, front and rear. The compact spare takes 60 psi (420 kPa). The tire label on the driver's side center pillar shows the pressure for your Santa Fe.
2027 Santa Fe tire pressure by tire size
| Tire size | Wheel size | Cold pressure, front and rear |
|---|---|---|
| 235/60 R18 | 7.5J X 18 | 35 psi (240 kPa) |
| 245/60 R18 | 7.5J X 18 | 35 psi (240 kPa) |
| 255/45 R20 | 8.5J X 20 | 36 psi (250 kPa) |
| 245/45 R21 | 8.5J X 21 | 36 psi (250 kPa) |
| Compact spare T135/90 D17 | 4.0B x 17 | 60 psi (420 kPa) |
From the Tires And Wheels table in chapter 10 of the 2027 Santa Fe owner's manual, read November 3, 2026. The manual lists the same pressure at normal load and at maximum load, and wheel nut torque of 79-94 lbf·ft (11-13 kgf·m, 107-127 N·m).
All tire sizes and pressures for your Santa Fe are also on the label on the driver's side center pillar.
Which tire your 2027 Santa Fe has
| 2027 Santa Fe trim | Wheels and tires | Cold pressure |
|---|---|---|
| SE | 18-inch alloy, 235/60 R18 | 35 psi (240 kPa) |
| SEL | 18-inch alloy, 235/60 R18 | 35 psi (240 kPa) |
| XRT | 18-inch alloy (dark finish), 245/60 R18 All-Terrain | 35 psi (240 kPa) |
| Limited | 20-inch alloy, 255/45 R20 | 36 psi (250 kPa) |
| Calligraphy | 21-inch alloy (dark finish), 245/45 R21 | 36 psi (250 kPa) |
Wheels and tires are from the 2027 Santa Fe features and specs on hyundaiusa.com, read November 3, 2026, which list a temporary spare tire and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with individual tire indicator as standard. Pressures are matched by tire size from the owner's manual table above. The Santa Fe Hybrid is not covered here.

How to check Santa Fe tire pressure
The 2027 Santa Fe manual says to check every tire, including the spare, at least once a month, with a good quality tire pressure gauge, when the tires are cold. You cannot tell if a tire is properly inflated just by looking at it.
- Let the tires cool. The manual defines cold tires as a vehicle that has not been driven for at least three hours, or has been driven less than 1 mile (1.6 km).
- Remove the valve cap and press the gauge firmly onto the valve stem to read the pressure.
- Compare the reading with the pressure on the tire label on the driver's side center pillar. If it is low, add air until it reaches the recommended pressure.
- If you overfill, release air by pushing on the metal stem in the center of the valve, then recheck with the gauge.
- Put the valve caps back on. Without the cap, dirt or moisture can get into the valve core and cause air leakage.
Warm tires normally read 4 to 6 psi (28 to 41 kPa) higher than the recommended cold pressure. The manual says not to release air from warm tires to adjust the pressure, because the tires would then be under-inflated.
Cold weather and snow tires
| Situation | Per the 2027 Santa Fe manual |
|---|---|
| Colder temperatures expected soon | It is permissible to add 3 psi (20 kPa) to the standard tire pressure specification. |
| Temperature drops | Tires typically lose 1 psi (7 kPa) for every 12 °F (7 °C) temperature drop. Recheck pressures when big temperature swings are expected. |
| Low tire pressure light on a cold morning | The light may come on in cold weather if the pressure was set in warm weather. That does not mean the TPMS is malfunctioning; check and adjust the pressure to the recommended level. |
| Snow tires | Snow tires should carry 4 psi (28 kPa) more than the pressure recommended for the standard tires on the tire label, or up to the maximum pressure on the tire sidewall, whichever is less. Do not drive faster than 75 mph (120 km/h) on snow tires. |
| Maximum pressure | Do not exceed the maximum inflation pressure shown on the tire sidewall. |
From the Tires And Wheels, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Maintenance sections of the 2027 Santa Fe owner's manual, read November 3, 2026.
Santa Fe tire pressure monitor (TPMS)
The 2027 Santa Fe manual says you can check tire pressure in the utility view mode in the cluster display. The pressures appear after a few minutes of driving; if they do not appear while the vehicle is stopped, the message "Drive to display" appears. The displayed values may differ from those measured with a tire gauge.
To change the pressure unit, the manual gives this infotainment path: Setup > General > Units > Tire Pressure Unit > psi, kpa, bar. The infotainment system may change after software updates.
The manual says the compact spare should be inflated to 60 psi (420 kPa), and never to drive over 50 mph (80 km/h) on it. For other cluster lights, see our Hyundai warning lights guide.

Hyundai Santa Fe tire pressure questions
What should the tire pressure be on a Hyundai Santa Fe?
The 2027 Santa Fe owner's manual lists 35 psi (240 kPa) cold for the 18-inch tires (235/60 R18 and 245/60 R18) and 36 psi (250 kPa) for the 20-inch and 21-inch tires (255/45 R20 and 245/45 R21), front and rear, at normal and maximum load. Confirm with the tire label on the driver's side center pillar.
Why do some Santa Fe trims use 36 psi?
The pressure follows the tire size. In the 2027 Santa Fe manual, the 20-inch and 21-inch tires call for 36 psi (250 kPa), and the 18-inch tires call for 35 psi (240 kPa). On hyundaiusa.com, the 2027 Limited has 255/45 R20 tires and the Calligraphy has 245/45 R21 tires.
What pressure does the Santa Fe spare tire need?
The 2027 Santa Fe manual says the compact spare (T135/90 D17) should be inflated to 60 psi (420 kPa). It also says never to drive over 50 mph (80 km/h) on the compact spare.
Where can I see tire pressure in a Santa Fe?
The 2027 Santa Fe manual says you can check tire pressure in the utility view mode in the cluster display. The pressures appear after a few minutes of driving, and the displayed values may differ from a tire gauge reading.
Should I add air to my Santa Fe tires in winter?
The 2027 Santa Fe manual says it is permissible to add 3 psi (20 kPa) to the standard specification if colder temperatures are expected soon, and that tires typically lose 1 psi (7 kPa) for every 12 °F (7 °C) drop. Never exceed the maximum pressure on the tire sidewall.
