IONIQ 5 charging times

DC ultra-fast, 800V

About 20 minutes from 10% to 80% on a 350 kW, 800V DC ultra-fast charger using the included CCS adapter. Hyundai says the SE RWD (84 kWh), SEL RWD and Limited RWD can add up to 178 miles in about 15 minutes on that charger.

NACS port

The 2027 IONIQ 5 has a native NACS port. Hyundai lists about 24 minutes (63 kWh) or 30 minutes (84 kWh) from 10% to 80% on a NACS V3/V4 DC charger.

Level 2 at home

About 7 hours 20 minutes from 10% to 100% on a 10.9 kW, 240V AC charger for the 84 kWh battery, and 5 hours 40 minutes for the 63 kWh battery on a standard 240V Level 2 charger.

Battery heating

Hyundai lists a battery heating system as standard on every 2027 IONIQ 5 trim, along with Drive Mode Select with Eco, Normal, Sport and Snow modes.

From the 2027 IONIQ 5 specifications and charging disclaimers on hyundaiusa.com, read October 29, 2026. Hyundai says actual charging time varies with the current charge level, the charger's output, vehicle and battery settings, battery temperature and outside temperature, and that ultra-fast charging stations are provided by independent companies and availability is not guaranteed.

What affects your IONIQ 5's range

Hyundai's range disclaimer names the factors that move real-world range away from the EPA estimate:

  • Vehicle options, such as AWD and larger wheels (compare the ratings above).
  • Driving conditions and habits, including how much of the drive is at highway speed.
  • The vehicle and battery's condition. Hyundai says battery capacity decreases with time and use.
  • Battery temperature and outside temperature.
